Dear Parents, Guardians and Friends of Lore School,

It is with great pride that we announce that Lore Elementary School has been selected as a 2009 New Jersey School of Character. We were informed of this prestigious recognition on Monday, February 9, 2009 by the New Jersey Schools of Character (NJSOC) Review Committee and Blue Ribbon Panel. Lore School completed an application and portfolio in November 2008, which was required by NJSOC to enter the selection process.

Our strong character education program and related school and community activities were the collective ingredients that enabled Lore to achieve this recognition. Through the efforts of our talented and dedicated staff, Lore School has become a school of distinction in the State of New Jersey.

In addition to receiving state recognition, our application has been forwarded to the Character Education Partnership (CEP) in Washington, DC, for further screening for the National Schools of Character Award. Should we become a finalist at the national level, as we did in 2008, we will be notified in early March.

As always, your continued support and involvement in all of our school initiatives and activities remains an integral part of our success.

Sincerely,

Patricia Womelsdorf
Principal
